It is with broken hearts we inform you of the passing of our Nan, Ngamoni “Monchie” Huata who passed away peacefully last night at her kainga surrounded by her tamariki and mokopuna,
A descendant of Ngāti Whare, Te Whakatohea, Te Whānau a Apanui, Ngāti Rangiwewehi, Ngāti Rangiteaorere and Tūhourangi Ngāti Wāhiao,
The daughter of Ngairo Katene (deceased) and Whariki Waitohi (deceased). Wife of the late Hemi Huata and Mother to their four children, Ringahora Heeni Ngakai Ybel, Maku i te rangi Hoana & Willie Ropez, Hemi Tūhoe Akutina Pirini Te Raihi & Mereana Roimata Huata and Hemi Pareiha Pītiti Te Okanga Kahutapere & Janine Brown. Treasured and Gangster Grandmother to all her mokopuna, Mildred (Milly girl), The twins Jaylene & Laurelle, Tiahuia (Tii), Heke-Turoa Panache (Pee dawg), Te Waiarama (Pipi), Wi Te Tau (Nunus), Ruiha (Lulu bells), Te Waerea Maiaorere (Jelly bean), Te Rangiamio (Boboys) & puku son and Nana to everyone.
Our Nan will spend tonight Tuesday 2nd at home. We ask to allow this time for the immediate whānau only before she is given to her people of Tūhourangi/Ngāti Wāhiao.
Wednesday 3rd, Nan and the whānau will arrive at Te Pākira Marae, Whakarewarewa at (time tbc)
